一個國家要如何將它的遺產列入聯合國的世界遺產，首先就要 nominate 被提名，而被提名的遺產要滿足一些基準，例如是不是能夠表現出人類經典的創造力之作，就像美國的 the Status of Liberty自由女神
或是自然美景，自然之像，像澳洲的 the Great Barrier Reef 大堡礁
但還有一個附帶條件，就是遺產地的所有國，是否可持續的保護它的遺產
