很多人認為英文最難發的音是 th 的音，像是 thank you ，three ，thousand 這些字的 th 的音都不好發，衣服的複數 clothes 尤其難發，因為它不止有 th ，後面又加上一個複數的 s。
其實很多的美國人都會用一個口語的發音來取代，唸成 close，就跟關起來 close的發音一模一樣，I have to buy some new clothes(直接就唸close，th的音完全省略).
另一個字months，th的音可以省略，唸起來就像 mons，Let's wait a few months.
